Gráinne Gillis read Music at University College Cork and graduated from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 2002. A native Irish-American, she has an excellent ear for accents.Recent theatre work includes: Die Tote Stadt (ROH), Orpheus (BAC), An Eligible Man (New End), and As You Like It, directed by Sir Peter Hall. TV, radio and film includes: Fair City, presenting Artbeat for CC Radio in Cork City and 31 North 62 East (feature).
Gráinne reads fluently in Irish and Italian, and is a regular on the readers' list at the RNIB. Recent titles include: Watermelon, This Charming Man, Her Warrior King and Brooklyn for the RNIB, Riot for Random House USA and The Insider by Ava McCarthy for Oakhill Publishing.
She also has done several promos for CC Radio, ADR on the film "Leap Year" (starring Amy Adams), and wrote and presented a series called "Women Composers" for Lyric FM (part of RTE), which was the Irish Times and Sunday Times Critics' Choice for all of the 4-part series, and produced by award-winning producer Sinead Wylde. She is also a classically trained mezzo-soprano, and performs regularly in venues in London.
