AT4040 voiceover vs the world!!!!!!!!!
Hello Pieholians, are you an AT4040 voiceover? Meaning does anyone out there use a AT4040 mic? I have been looking into the differences between that one and the one we provide in our bundle. I think the AT4040 mic is an XLR, (ours is a USB) So its not really the same for comparison. It seems to me that it might be that little bit better than ours, but for just a little over the cost of a mic you can get a whole home studio set up with us!!!
So I’d like to know if anyone has one so I can do a little test, a side by side recording if you will, if anyone has both then even better, but I’m sure that won’t be the case. I would just like to hear what the difference really is, after all it’s sound that counts in this game.
If no one has one does anyone know anyone who does? Or maybe you’ve used one before? What were your experiences? Whilst on this topic those of you that have purchased our set up may as well let us all now how you feel about it too
I may as well open this up to everyone really, what home set up do you have? What do you like best about it and why did you choose that particular item?
If there is a clear winner out of this I will try to set up some kind of deal so that Piehole members across the universe can have great equipment and work from the comfort of their own homes, well ok we already provide that service, but what about options, people love to have options, colours, size, shape, spec heck even just a favourite brand name. Let us know yours and let’s see if there are any unsung heroes or obvious front runners out there.

Hello,
I actually do use an AT4040 mic. I would be happy to do a test for you.
When choosing a mic, I took copy into a studio (that also sells mics) and a music store (Guitar Center) along with a flash drive. I asked if I could test out the mics (with the same copy for a fair comparison) and asked them to record it as well. Okay, the acoustics weren’t super, but at least it gave me in idea. I took the audio from the flash drive, edited it down to a short sampling of all of the mics, and sent an mp3 for people to listen to and to give me their feedback and that’s how I made my choice.
I love my AT4040, it has worked great for me.
Thanks,
Judy Fossum
