VoiceOver interview with Jennifer Sims!

What was your first taster of voice over work?

Early in my acting career…well, it wasn’t much of a career…so I took a job at an advertising agency in Los Angeles where I used to oversee VO recording sessions. I worked with amazing voice talent week after week and I just knew that I was on the wrong side of the glass – I knew I had to be a voice actor.

What has been your favourite voice over job to date and why?

Well, it would be the …no wait, it was…
Please don’t make me choose!

If you had to pick one style which you feel represents you best what would it be?

Believable/smart/funny/quirky. That’s one style, right?

Have you been involved in anything interesting lately?

Recently I had the privilege to do some narration for a documentary film about the Hadza, the last of the hunter gatherer tribes in Africa. It’s a fascinating film and it’s being entered in the Sundance Film Festival.

Any advice for aspiring voice overs?

Train, practice, repeat.
